Budgeting for many seems like a hard and tedious task. The reality, however, is that budgeting your money is just plain financially intelligent- regardless of how much money you earn. You should budget your money even if your on unemployment! You should have a log for all your money in and money expenditures. If you get a check from work, enter in your log.

You can take the information and deduct the expenses from the income and figure out what your fixed and variable expenses are. Fixed are those that don’t change like rent, car payment, and food. Variable are things that can change like laundry detergent, clothes, and other non essentials (for every month). Once you figure out what your spending a month you can create a monthly budget.

Don’t spend that extra savings other than paying bills. In case you need to learn how to create a budget that you can stick to, try the envelope method at http://hubpages.com/hub/Envelope-Secret-to-Making-and-Sticking-to-a-Budget many debt reductions specialists endorse. When finding out how to budget money, many overlook this easy tool. Pay the minimum on all debts except for the smallest. http://hubpages.com/hub/Simple-Tips-On-Dealing-With-Your-Own-Debt Use the money you were using to pay the smallest debt and start adding it to the payment of the second smallest debt.

How To Budget Your Money and Have Control Over Your Spending Habits

Budgeting for many seems like a hard and tedious task. Many tend to rationalize that they don’t have enough money coming in to budget it, and besides, it all ends up going to bills less a few dollars here and there. The reality, however, is that budgeting your money is just plain financially intelligent- regardless of how much money you earn. You should budget your money even if your on unemployment!

Why do you budget? Because more often than not, the reason we don’t think we have money or that we feel broke all the time, is that we’re not fully aware of how much money we’re actually spending. If you make 3,000 dollars a month, your bills are around 2,000 dollars, and you can’t find two nickels to rub together, chances are your incrementally and irresponsibly spending 1,000 dollars every month on little stuff and don’t realize it.

Learning how to budget your money will save you money and give you more control over your spending habits. In fact, many don’t realize, until they budget their money, that they even have the spending habits they do! It’s a real eye opener.

Budgeting is not hard, in fact after you get used to doing these simple steps below- budgeting will not only be easy, it will change your life and give you amazing insight into how to improve your life without having to earn more money like you may think you do.

Step 1:

Write Down Everything

You should have a log for all your money in and money expenditures. If you get a check from work, enter in your log. If you do some freelance work online and get paid for it via PayPal, write that down. Make sure your money in and money out are separate from the logging of your paychecks/income because if you put them together you may deduct money you pull out of an atm, then you may deduct it again when you itemize where the money was spent. This will make your budge lopsided.

Step 2:

Itemize

Itemize to raise awareness of where you can tweak your budget or do things differently to save money and put it towards more things you need.

You should itemize your receipts, write down what you buy, where you buy it, the date you purchased it and keep a running tally of how much you have vs how much you’ve spent.

This is much more simple than it sounds. This helps you to figure out where your habits are. Where your spending money, and it keeps you aware of all the times you spend money- even after you’re no longer in the zone. We tend to not think about that daily energy drink, coffee, or subway sandwich. When it comes to things we need, we don’t realize that the reason we don’t have the money for it is that we bought 30 cans of energy drink.

By realizing this and not wanting to give up your energy fix, you can make other arrangements such as going to the dollar tree and purchasing ingredients to make a bulk batch of energy drink supplements where by you can make the 3.00 from one day stretch for a week, dramatically saving money. You may also be going to Starbucks for a premium cup of coffee at 6.00 average per day. You can get an equally delicious and energizing coffee at 7-11 for 1.50 saving even more money.

Step 3:

Formulate A Monthly Budget Plan

After a few months you can take the information in steps one and two and deduct the expenses from the income and figure out what your fixed and variable expenses are. Fixed are those that don’t change like rent, car payment, and food. Variable are things that can change like laundry detergent, clothes, and other non essentials (for every month). Once you figure out what your spending a month you can create a monthly budget.

Step 4:

Savings

Create a savings account and start to figure out where you can tweak your budge (i.e. like the aforementioned coffee/energy drink ideas) to save money. Don’t spend that extra savings other than paying bills. If everything is paid and you have some surplus money- put it into your savings account and budget an expense of paying yourself (list this as an expense and income but in the variable section). To truly be free and to make better decisions, having some money around helps. Your savings can be used to supplement your habitual spending you don’t want to give up. By using savings and not your budget you create some boundaries of what’s available and by using your card to extract money (only at the stores) you log what your buying.

Having a cushion gives you peace of mind and the ability to think without stressing out. As you run out of money you tend to get stressed and feel less excited about what you’re capable of doing. By having a cushion you develop peace of mind and make decisions based on what’s good for you- not retail therapy or trying to buy your way out of stress.

The US economy is getting better very slowly and this has to do with a lot of different factors. People are gradually beginning to spend more and this means the economy may be starting to turn around.

While the unemployment numbers remain just under 10%, they have come down from their highs. Some people are giving credit for all this to the stimulus bill of 2009 and they are saying it has done what it was meant to do.

More money going into the school is something that came out of the stimulus bill. Kids need more from their schools and their teachers and these kinds of programs benefit us all in the long run. Our schools have been neglected for years and money for schools is always a hot debate.

Families who have kids that want to continue on with their education may need help with the price of college so high. The stimulus bill had many purposes and one of those was to get more kids into college and if that can be done, we all win.

The stimulus bill addressed many other needs in our country such as adding to our infrastructure and making it stronger. Many parts of the countries roads and bridges have been neglected and by improving them it would also add some jobs. These would only be temporary jobs though but at least some improvements to our cities would be made.

Over the years, much in our country that has been needed to be improved has been ignored. The grants from the stimulus bill addressed some of these needs and is hopefully making this a better place to live in.

These Debt reduction solutions are practiced every day by debt relief companies. Debt reduction companies are common place in America today. The average amount of debt held by one family in America is $10,000. By reducing your credit card balances, each payment that you make will work harder at reducing your remaining principle. The stimulus package was intended to help reduce the overall debt of America, and to get it back to where it was earlier this decade. The economy will benefit from it, too, through the payment of debts that have been owed for quite a long time.

Often, your creditor will help you resolve your issues with bad debt. They want you to be able to pay off your debt and not file for bankruptcy. Just one phone call can help you in your endeavor to pay off your debt. Your creditors lose if you file bankruptcy and many times will help you by setting up a small plan to help you.

Almost all of America has some type of debt built up from their past. The average American has over $10,000 in credit card debt that can’t be paid, nor will it ever. This article is about the Hope that comes from the American government in relieving this burden.

These Debt reduction solutions are practiced every day by debt relief companies. They do this quite often with many people, so you’re not alone in having to deal with this massive amount of debt. And, because they do this so often, they know how to deal with credit card companies. They can work with them and know how to say things to get your debt lowered or even removed. This comes from experience.

Debt reduction companies are common place in America today. They’re on every street corner and plaza you see. This is because most of America is in debt. The average amount of debt held by one family in America is $10,000. That’s going to sound crazy, but it’s true!

By reducing your credit card balances, each payment that you make will work harder at reducing your remaining principle. You will gain some breathing room and be in a better position to manage your finances in these trying times.

Last but not least, we have described the most important steps and advice for a debt free living but for sure, this is not enough, you should always think in a convenient way, especially for larger purchases.

You do not need too many credit cards; one major card with least annual fee or even without annual fees is the best thing to pay your bills at the end of the month efficiently.

Use cash for everyday purchases (low purchases between $10 and $50). According to studies, when stores allowed customers to use their credit card, the average sale increased significantly. No comment! This is very bad, because you will be paying interest even for foods and drinks! This is not acceptable.

Credit card is not always a magical card in your pocket; unfortunately it turns to a weapon easily.

Do not turn into a machine, take responsibility. You can maintain a good lifestyle without drowning into debts. Take the time to create a realistic budget.

Do you know that the credit card industry now derives 35% of its revenues from fees!!! If you have one credit card, only use it to charge things that you can pay for at the end of the month and can avoid paying those interests, which can result in you paying double or triple for your purchases and having less money to spend on other things.

When you’re just starting out on your own, Write down your goals then set up a Budget! Sit down and look at your expenses and your income. Be realistic. Don’t be foolish. Some of the things that most people want are things I’m going to cover anyway Even with good debt you want to think twice before taking it on.

Here are few tips that should help:

1 Bear in mind that you can solve your problems by simply contacting the people you owe money and get their advice.

2 Do not ever ignore the problem. This won’t solve your debts.

3 Do not panic, there is a solution for everything is this life.

4 Create a priority list by taking into consideration the higher interest rates.

5 Always have a REALISTIC budget.

6 Keep all your bills and letters and everything related to your debts. Do not throw them away. You need them.

7 As mentioned before, think before you buy!

8 When you take a credit or loan, know the TOTAL COST and NOT the monthly payment only. Do not be fooled with the low monthly payment, know the total cost and the exact interest rate.

9 Use the advices and calculations of this e-book, when you know how to compare the standard repayment schedule and the debt reduction plan, you are on the road to success.

10 Don’t be fooled by those companies pretending to help you get rid of your debts for a small amount of money; this amount logically speaking is added to your total debts. You can do the management yourself very easily.

Do you realize that if you owe $5,600 on a credit card with a 18% interest rate, and you only make $100 payment each month that you will owe on this account for 124 months and pay a total of $6,708.54 in principle and and paying % 54.5031 of interest for the payment? Real examples are usually the best tool to demonstrate a theory. Let’s take few examples: You have 3 debts:

1 Home Loan
2 Credit Card
3 Car Loan

Home loan has an amount of $36.000 with %14 of interest rate, $3500 for the credit card with %18 of interest and $21.000 for the car loan with %10 of interest.

Most people unfortunately, do not summarize their debts correctly. They simply follow the debt period/time and pay off their debts without having a clear status of what is really happening behind the scene.

This article is not written to simply explain theories; you will learn how to calculate your debts and how to recreate a payment plan to avoid huge interest rates and hence cutting down your debts and/or becoming debt free. As an advice, take your calculator, have a paper and do at the same time these examples and you will notice how drastically you can cut down your interests and save time and money! Let’s summarize these debts:

Summary for your current debts:

1 $60.500 is the total amount of the debts we have. ($36.000 + $3500 + $21.000)
2 12.8% is the interest rate we are paying. (Weighted average for 14%, 18% and 10%)
3 $850 is your current monthly payment. ($500 + $100 + $250)
4 $647.50 is the amount of interest you are paying each month. ($60.500 x 12.842% / 12)
5 76.1% is the percent of your monthly payments on all your debts.

If you continue to make the current minimum payments on all your debts, you will be in debt for: 13 years and 2 months During this time you will pay a total of $59,766.10 in interest which is 98.7% of your current debt! Can you imagine this huge number! 98.7% of interest!!!

This is the current debt status; this is the nightmare if you do not follow a debt free plan. Shocking numbers!

1 Your Home loan needs 13 years and 2 months to be paid off
2 Your Car loan needs 12 years and 2 months to be paid off.
3Your Credit card needs 4 years and 3 months to be paid off.

Total: $60.500 Interest: $59.766.10 Can you imagine paying interest approximately the same amount of owe? Unbelievable! You will be paying for this $120.266, by simply recreating a repayment plan (following steps of Chapter 5), you will save this money! And save time too! And make life easier and let the dream come true! If you were to pay off your debts by paying either the minimum amount or the payment amount of a 15 year amortization, you would have to pay a total of $59,766.10 in interest and would not pay off your debts for 13 years and 2 months.
